Anyway I was busy playing Wii Tennis trying to improve my individual score (by beating increasingly harder computer players) and I finally got so mad at not being able to beat the higher lvl comps that I finally took a break. And I got to thinking, Our Lives are relying more and more on technology, like to the point where we can't even function w/ out it. I know it sounds a little extreme but take AIM or YIM or MSN for instance. I probably talk to all my friends more ONLINE then actually in person. And notice how much EASIER it is to express your emotions and feelings when your behind a screen? I mean all the fights/conflicts w/e I have ever been in (10th-11th) grade wise have always started/culminated on an instant messenger. Are we coming to a point where human to human interaction is becoming a thing of the past? W/e I see 2 people being really affectionate (not romantically) just like really expressing themselves and opening up, it weirds me out. I mean we all have our CLOSE friends that we are close to but w/e happened to being upfront in person? I type more then I speak and of course technology is convenient but are we sacrificing our ability to speak for the easiness of typing away on a keyboard?
In a world where we are ever more relying on technology, are real world experiences worth nothing now? Should someone who has spent their lives making connection with people and seeing the world be on the same page as someone who can talk to millions of people in a chair and a couple of keyboard strokes? At the end of the day, wouldn't someone rather see someone else face to face rather then read the next of many email messages where the words have no tone or emotion? How can black text replace human voice, and even yet why do we insist on typing away rather then getting up and giving someone a hug?
In a world where all our memories are stored on disks and hard drives, where in an instant our entire childhood be erased in a bad thunderstorm and where everything from communicating to shopping to even a college education can be obtained on a computer, you have to ask yourself, What's it all worth?
Btw it seems our VNT plan has failed yet again b/c ppl have lives and actually made PLANS for this vacation (Insert Wii Tennis and Pokemon here ) and besides the roads are unsafe b/c of SC's area effect but Mike Kabbat's Journey was rly funny and worth the life that we wasted on it lol
